The Japanese equity market rose sharply in the third quarter, as an improving outlook for US interest rates bolstered risk appetites amid heightened global economic uncertainty. The Lazard Japanese Strategic Equity Fund slightly lagged the market, returning 6.96% (net of fees), versus the TOPIX index return of 7.23%.
