Eric Van Nostrand is the Global Head of Markets and Chief Economist at Lazard Asset Management. Eric works across the firm's investment and research teams to further enhance investment performance. He is a member of the firm’s Executive Leadership Team. Prior to joining Lazard, Eric served as Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Economic Policy, where he led the office responsible for analyzing domestic and international U.S. economic policies. He is a recipient of the Alexander Hamilton Award, the U.S. Treasury's highest honor. Previously, he was a portfolio manager and Managing Director at BlackRock, where he managed systematic equity funds and served as Head of Research for Multi-Asset Strategies. Eric holds a JD from Yale Law School and degrees in economics and engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
